We would not be who we are without the hardworking team of employees we are able to staff. Among this team, our very own Lashone is an all-star. It is clear that everything Lashone does, from being on the job to spending time with her five children, she does with love and gratitude. We spoke with Lashone to learn more about the woman bringing so much positivity to our client’s workplace.
Q: Happy belated Mother’s Day Lashone! You are a mother, correct?
A: Yes I am, a mother of five. I have three boys and two girls. They are all grown and out of the house now, so it gets lonely, but I have peace of mind. I’ve worked hard to support myself my whole life and now it is my time to shine.
Q: Did you always live in Flint?
A: Yes, I am from the south side of Flint and went to Eisenhower. That school was totally different from the environment I was used to. It taught me respect, and how to be nice and kind. Growing up my mother was a single parent and my sister had Lupus, so I had to work hard for my family.
I started working when I was 12 years old and haven’t stopped since. When you have five children you just do what you have to do. I am grateful for the work I have. When I see young women with kids at the job, I know they need help because I was in their shoes at that age. So I try to cheer them up as best I can.
Q: You clearly are a hard worker. What do you do to unwind?
A: We like to go bowling and to the park. On Sundays, I go to church—that’s my peace. I live a simple life. I would like to get married, but I am really happy, so I know it will happen when it is supposed to happen.
Q: That’s a great mindset to have! Tell me a little bit about what it has been like working with Entech.
A: Oh, I love Entech. They are so understanding. For my job, I hand sort from 2 to 5 and then I clean from 5 to 7. I do extra cleaning because I love it, I find it to be peaceful. I wish I had found this opportunity sooner because I really enjoy it. Whenever I have something going on, Entech is so understanding and works with my schedule. I really appreciate that. This company brought out the happiness in me. I can’t wait to go to work every day. I dance for my teammates, and they love to watch me dance.
Q: I am sure that they do! How is it that you are so kind? What made you this way?
A: I got it from my mom and my grandma. They didn’t have money, but they were always kind. When I graduated, I was on the streets and was mean back then. But, when I had my child, God helped me. Money can’t buy love, but if you raise a child it will keep you going on and on. Love is more than gold. It will make you happier. When you see a woman who is a mother, watch how she glows!
Lashone, you have touched our hearts, and we are so thankful to have you as a part of our Entech family. Keep on glowing!
